Of course I will. I'm human, am I not?

No, can't say as I would play as a human as they only bathe once a day at the most, they have the worst grooming habits of any mammal I have noted in my existance.

Secondly they only have two legs, we all know that superior mammals can walk on two and four as the case dictates.

Last, although I do love select humans and keep them around as I have needs that only they can fulfill the rest of them are just extraneous.

Hmm, I think I'll play as the Altarians first, they look human but with superpowers

The second game I will just create a whole new civ to play with

Well, I think that you start the campaign as leader of the humans

I am so playing as the blue slug guys in my first game. Seriously, you guys.

In my first skirmish game, anyway. I'm not sure if you even *can* play the campaign with anyone other than humans, and it is in there that I assume the tutorial bits to be?

I believe that's the case, but I'm pretty sure you can customize them almost as much as with sandbox games (you can't pick starting techs). So if you like you can change the name, portrait, bonuses, etc.

I will play humans first and unmodified.

Myself, I'll probably play either the Iconians, the Korx, or the Thalan for my first game. Humans are boring.

I will create a custom race. I want to play as a race that looks like us. None of the races are based on facts (exept from you humans) and they look completely different than most of our neighbours. Will i be able to import a picture of our kind in the game or do i have to make do with the ones in the game?

Just a heads up.... the "pre-canned" races each have a strong lineup of bonuses... something you cannot re-create with a custom race. The dev team did this to encourage the use of these "pre-canned" races over sticking with your custom race, so that you might enjoy all the "fluff" work (ie, dialog)... Just something to keep in mind.

Indeed. Gotta love that Yor miniturization bonus

Yeah... I used to -love- the Torians for their huge sensor bonus... (Im a sensor freak!! I have more sensor ship designs than war ship designs, *heh*) But it was taken away in a recent update. *Cry*

After the campaign, I'll probably be sick of the Humans and I'll dive into the sandbox games in this order

Drengin
Altarian
Yor
Torian
Korx
Thalan
Custom Race: illuminati

I've always been most interested in the Arceans, so I plan to lead them into my first sandbox game. After that race will probably be chosen based upon which bonus best suits researching my way to military superiority.

Are you kidding Mavx21? Can somebody confirm this? One of the first races I was going to create was my beloved Ur-Quan Kzer-za. Are you telling me these mighty warriors will be inferior to all the other races??

Nobody answered my question: will i have the possibility to import my own picture for a custom leader. As much as humans look similar to us, they still look ....premitive. No offence.

I hope you guys release a bunch of extra race pics for download sometime after release--like all kinds of wierd bug, reptile, etc. type of aliens for our custom races.

As discussed in several other threads, yes. You need only add a 256x256 PNG image with the proper naming convention in [GC2 folder]/Gfx/Race. Likewise for the race logo icons, which are 128x128 PNG images in the same location. Those images will then be available as selections in the game.

Thank you, human! You have interresting games here on earth. I only wish i didn't have to press all those buttons. I would have made a modification to your calculating machines to resemble ours but your technology is too premitive for me to do this.

I am playing as an Iconian, but in my first game I was a Human.
