I fear that you must wait to have the physical copy before being able to download the game from Stardock. I think that only preorders at Stardock will allow you to receive a temporary GC2 serial Id. But I could be wrong.

I have tio agree with Peace Phoenix. If you want to download on Day 1, then you'll need to either buy it direct from Stardock, or ensure that you have a physical copy of the game on Day 1.

As Peace Phoenix and Vinco posted, you won't be able to download the game until you get your boxed copy from GoGamer.com.

Hi
And what about those who have the totalgaming subscription? What should I do to have the boxed version (other than buying it again )? It seems to me I saw a post suggesting that those who had preordered the electronic version could also have the boxed one from stardock if they paid the handling & shipping (which of course i'm willing to).
Thanks

Q: I want to purchase the game at Stardock and download immediately but I still want the box. Can I do this?

A: YES. If you purchase the second option (CD purchase) you still get a serial # to download the game. That serial # is temporary (i.e. will expire) but will let you play the game until the box arrives.

This is from the "Getting the Game FAQ" by Frogboy himself. Just one of the perks of ordering direct from Stardock.

If you have a TGN membership it'll depend (did you buy it with tokens or was it included during our transition to Phase 2), but we'll be making an option available once the game is available for people to upgrade to the CE boxed copy.

From the stickied FAQ thread:
If you had an original TotalGaming.net subscription in which you received GalCiv II for free, you can get the Collector's Edition for $20 which includes shipping to North America ($25 outside North America). You'll need to contact [email protected] though.

Yarlen
I wouldn't remember abou t when exactly was the transtion phase and what it involved.

I think I made the subscription to totalgaming a few months after galciv 1 was out, when we could pay a supplement and so have the subscription. Then I renewed it sometime last year. Does it mean that in order for e to receive the CE boxed version I have to pay 25 $ more (I'm in france). But I couldn't tell if that's what is called having an "original totalgamint subscription", since it wasn't even called that way. When I subscribed it was drengin.net if i recall correctly.
So now, have you any suggestion as to how I should proceed?
Thanks

Nastavnik, have you tried to launch SDC to see if GC2 is in your list of purchased games or not? And how long is the purchased game section for you? Have you also 10 token to be used to purchase games?

It it is the case, then you have what is called "an original totalgaming.net subscription" and the following is correct:

to receive the CE boxed version I have to pay 25 $ more (I'm in france).

And you need to contact the Stardock Sales Department.

But I don't know if there will be some custom taxes.

Actually, they were very fast on answering the phone, unlike alot of other companies I deal with on a regular basis. So maybe reacing out and touching them at the toll free number is better. Can be found at stardock.com

Nastnavik, if you had the beta and did not explicitly preorder GC2, then yes, you gained it for free when they switched to the token system, and a box will cost you USD$25.

I guess I got lucky!
My email was replied to within 4 hours!

They'll have something for those who have the game through the prior totalgaming system, like me, and for 25$ we can get the boxed version . 25$. But it will happen after the release date (that s what i understood from the email)
