Let me be the first, in this thread at least, to say.

Let us download it!

If I pre-order the boxed version, can I also download it before I actually get the box? Maybe this is a stupid question and if so, I apologize. I'd like the game but I don't think I'd like to buy two of them. Nothing personal. But I'd like the boxed version as well as being able to get it ASAP on my hard drive.

Best strategy game 2006? Who knows. But for sure GC2 is no wimp

Congratz to all we will hope the "gamemedia" will be give you gold and platin awards that a lot of players will buy this game so that you make a lot of profit ...an ather good games like GCII with the same enthusassim you work at GCII work at you new projects
In Germany it will be not out before end of the month perhaps like the promation in gamemagazins say 03.03.2006

I definitely want to pre-order that Collector's Edition box; when will it be available? Also, to echo what RichVR asked, will preordering this edition also permit me to download the game? I want it ASAP, as he does.

Gah, maybe I didn't read carefully enough:

"Users who pre-order get the collector's edition which besides having a cool looking box get the tech tree poster, the GalCiv Desktop, and extra game content (additional pieces for the ships, etc.). Cost is the same as the regular. Users who have pre-ordered it from us directly can also get the same thing."

Can we just get clarification that a pre-order for the CD version directly from Stardock automatically means the Collector's Edition?

If you pre-order the game from Stardock you get the Collector's Edition PLUS the ability to download it while you wait (you're given a temporary serial # while you wait for your package to arrive).

I believe you get a fold out tech tree, bonus ship components, and a GalCiv2 Windows theme.
