I've been looking around in the bug reports and I thought I saw this somewhere, but can't find it again.

Basically, I started a game and picked up research labs early on. I never built a basic research facility. However, no matter how many labs I built, my planetary research never went above 3 points. (well, it would get to 5, if I adjusted my economic spending slider to ~80% research). I've got planets with three and four labs, but...

In the next game, I built basic facilities and upgraded them. I don't think my planetary research dropped any, but I can't say that it improved, either.

I've got the exact same problem. Started earlier building the starter facility. Quickly gained research labs. Noticed that the planets on which I upgraded, the ammount of research was the same. Tried a brand new planet with multiple research bonus tiles. After the labs were built, the research for the colony is still at 1 when it should have gone up at least a point or 2.

Okay. So I tried saving and exiting the game. When I reloaded it, the research per colony was calculated correctly. Makes it a little better, but would still be useful to see how I'm doing without that workaround.

I've noticed this as well. I had 20 high end labs and only when i've saved and reloaded do they show the proper values. I had something like 29 at start and they never increased as I built the labs (couldn't figure out why I wasn't researching tech better). Then after reloaded .. bang 9000+

Y'know, maybe this is why I can never keep up technologically. Hmm.
