So I've never seen this explained anywhere.

The most confusing part is specifically the celestial bodies settings.

In precise terms the question is: What is a subset of what?

I think "Number of Planets" is governed by "Number of Stars".

It would also be logical for "Habitable Planets" to be a subset of "Number of Planets".

However beyond that I'm clueless.

Is the number of extreme planets based on total planet count or habitable planets?

What about asteroids? What are they dependent on?

I believe extreme planets (planets that require tech to colonize) is dependent on the Habitable Planets setting.

And the Asteroids depend on the Star Count.

[DA Metaverse] I recently worked this out.  "Habitable planets" is a subset of "Number of planets",  so is the proportion of "number of Planets";  and the "Number of planets" seems to be a subset of "Number of stars",  i.e. the number of planets per star.

Extreme planets - I've noticed that there are many more of these when "Habitable planets" is set high (all galaxy sizes),  so I guess it is another proportion.
