What the heck is Error code -200? (SOLVED)

I have been trying to upload a new avatar to the forums. Whenever I try to upload, I get the message:

 

Upload Error:

Code: -200

Message: 500

Upload will be cancelled, please try again.

 

 

What does this mean?

Hopefully I can lure a stardock employee over here who knows something about this.

 

Go to joeuser and upload from there.

Just tried IE 7 at the office. It hanged in the animation for uploading (the animated circle thingy) but on refresh it had the new avatar.

I've got this error mess... again and again...   What does it mean in human language?

I'am use FF for *.jpg and *.png, KB and Res is OK..

I just tried from joeuser again and it still works fine. Using IE8 with flash 10. I haven't tried from WC  lately as I don't change my avatar very often.

Anyone still having the issue: you may have to clear your cookies and do a hard refresh for it to work.  If you can't clear your cookies, then just clear the ones related to the site you're trying to visit (eg: joeuser.com or impulsedriven.com) AND all stardock.com, stardock.net, and stardock anything cookies.

Let me know if that doesn't do it for you.

Deleted everything, restarted, checked the flash player...

forums.elementalgame.com

Chrome 5 --> nope (got one code -200, message 600 but after that only get "please upload new image")

IE 8 --> nope ("please upload new image" appears instead)

IE 8 compatibility with IE 7 --> nope ("please upload new image" appears instead)

 

Tried from joeuser.com and it worked in Chrome 5. The same site in IE 8 seems to work too (failed one of three tough).

I did load avatar on  joeuser.com  and now I can see it in my Profile and on new posts

Strange system (for to load avatar on this site needs first to load it on another)...but ok

Same thing here.  Cleared cookies but still no luck with IE8 or Firefox.  Changed the avatar in joeuser.com and it worked!

I hate to say it because I love Stardock and I love the community on these forums, but the forums themselves really really suck, I'd prefer the Forums on JoWood a hundred times to this. Not the community, and definitely not the company, just to be clear on that, I'm only talking about the Forums themselves, how the code works and how the forums operate and navigate.

What's Joe user?  I'm getting the error using Chrome.  I will try FF.  Don't have IE within a mile of any of my computers, but really, how hard is it for forum software to allow small image uploads.  This is 2010 after all...

I don't know about all of this. I changed my avatar no too long ago twice using FF and it went through smooth as glass. No error codes, no problems at all. Must be something in the water.

http:///joeuser.com did work for me, too (nothing else did).

 

I've never even heard of this JoeUser thing, but since it's part of Stardock, it knew me - I was already automagically logged in, and could simply upload my image under my Account data.

Thus: problem solved (for me, that is - this forum certainly has a bug)

The avatar upload issue has been resolved on the forums.  If it still does not work for you, try logging out and logging back in, and try clearing your cookies (if you do not want to clear all cookies, simply clear all cookies related to this site, the forums, and stardock).

Please let me know if you encounter any further issues.
