What are you talking about. What I would do is put the domestic window on. 50% production. 34% resarch. 33% social and military. Tax is what ever you still got money for. On your main planet build a farm first, second a virtual reality center then factorie, the white buiding with a stick coming out of the top. then a market. Then anything else you did not build. Then do it all over again. Then build colony ships to expand your empire. Want to know which is a planet you can live on. Scroll out then you'll find out. Don't move with the arrow keys. Move with right clicking. On other planets. Build starport for third building option. Select flagship to survey. If don't know how. double click it then click auto survey. then it will go around picking up all the meteorids and stuff floating around. I'll tell you more when you post back.

Hi!

what am I doing wrong???

Welcome to the "4x" gaming. What you're doing wrong could be hundreds of reasons, but IMO you're new to the the game AND the 4x genre, so you better follow the advice on wiki, and learn the game first.

In addition, note that the AIs don't research all those technologies themselves: they do a lot of technology trading between one another, and you should do the same!

Trade basic technologies to all AIs in return for technologies that are useful to you; if you have some available cash, you may want to buy the technology from them, rather than giving them some tech in return. Note that you shouldn't pay too much when trading: the AI will be extremely unwilling giving up some technologies (mining, weapons) so you should research those yourself rather than paying through the nose...

Does this help? Feel free to post back if you're still having trouble!
