You seem be under the impression that we are mere mortals. That is not true. We come from a higher plane of existance and cannot be killed. When your evil coalition dissolves we will pick you off one by one.

How many times do I have to tell you? I have Chuck Norris. He can kill anyone, whether or not they are "immortal".

Yes, but Chuck Norris is actually a reverse vampire, which means that he drinks urine for sustenance and can't come out at night.

However, this raises another arguement: vampires cannot technically go out under the light of the sun or moon because both lights are the same.

How do you know he's a reverse vampire?  And if he is a reverse vampire, then he can go out under the light of the sun or moon.

Quoting IQofSpam,

Quoting Jonnan001, reply 18Yes, I know I should know better by now. And true, frontotemporal dementia explains much about IQ of Spam. Dementia in any case.
As Luckmann would say:

Bam!  Strike One!

Or should I say strike three? Once again you're assuming that I am the stupid one.  You are completely missing my point. When I said that I wanted evidence, I was referring to the larger issue of global warming.  You did post a link refuting my example, but what good is that?  You have provided no countering argument to what we were actually talking about, which is whether or not global warming is man-made.

Seriously, get out of your mental rut.  For the second time you are completely stuck on a moot point and have lost focus of the debate as a whole.  The examples do not matter.  You don't like my flat-earth example?  Fine then, what about how scientists once thought that matter was just one continuous blob?

These are examples.  With every post you prove that you've missed the point, especially with that last one, that was great (the comic was funny though, I am exactly like that).  Sole Soul and I both tried to point you in the right direction - the point I brought up in reply #95 on page 4, which I am still waiting for a response to.  This discussion is about global warming.  There is a reason I didn't want to get into these other debates - because they don't matter!  Please remember that, and please re-read the last paragraph of reply #95.

The problem is that your argument is based in the false premises that someone stating that they find the scientific consensus on a subject to be reasonable needs to somehow provide you some additional proof. Sorry, no - I do not accept that premise. It is the scientific consensus because study after study has verified and upheld the theory, and it is a mainstay of scientific philosophy that at that point the dissenter is required to provide his evidence so his peers can review it.

So, you keep providing some out of context evidence, I knock it down, then you claim, time after time, that the debunking of the evidence you provided was really completely irrelevant, and I need to prove the theory.

No - you see, I actually don't. You are dissenting from the scientific consensus on the subject, and thus you carry the burden to provide evidence to support your viewpoint. It's fairly obvious you can't do so and you want to turn it around on me - sorry, but no, I'm not going to let you get away with that. Some belief you vaguely have that the scientific consensus might be this or could be that, is insufficient - the burden of proof is yours, so put up or shut up.

I've made it fairly clear from the get go that I am proceeding from this basic scientific principle. I have asked, multiple times, if you have any actual evidence that the scientific consensus is wrong, and you have failed to provide any.

If you don't want to accept the scientific consensus - well, I'm not actually interested in convincing you, as you state, I'm fairly well convinced you are incapable of logical thinking, at least on these politicized issues. I am interested in whether you're willing to openly admit to the fact that you have no evidence to actually back up your opinion.

Your opinion is based in ignorance, not science.

Jonnan

Hmm... how would you be interested in joining the Flaming Ninjas? We're a secret creed of warriors who seek to wipe all conflict from the Earth and create a society structured to prevent it from happening again. We're currently engaged in a conflict with Kyogre12 - a megalomaniac who seeks to destroy the Earth.

Kyogre ? what about me ! When the henchman of a supercriminal turns on his boss, he becomes a supercriminal too ! I want to enter in conflict with a super organisation of justice makers so I can proove how evil I am !!!

Even though I am not currently preparing any evil plans (you know, with me hiding in my undetectable stronghold of eternal agony and unending evil and all ...) I can be a good archenemy to any gang of superheros !

Wait till my plan next plan is ready ...

Jonnan, you have a premise of your own.  Your premise is that the scientific community's consensus is king.  Sorry, no - I do not accept that premise.  If you want me to believe something, you've got to show me why you believe it.  Believing something is true just because the majority says it is makes you gullible, not smart, which if you recall I have said before.  The very fact that you would use that argument proves that you are one of many who are just blindly following public opinion.  Science always has to defend what it holds to be true until there is no one to defend it from, or until it is disproven and a new theory takes its place.  That is how the scientific method works, and it therefore follows that your argument is unscientific.

So really your opinion is based in ignorance, not science.  You assume that scientists are somehow perfect, as if they have no bias, no motives, etc. and that their common opinion is therefore always the right one.  Whatever.  You're just gullible.

Also, the evidence you keep debunking is irrelevant, because it is always just some random example that you focus on.  I could use any example I want, and unless you're willing to sit down and disprove them all, you're wasting your time.  Don't argue against my examples of a concept, argue against the concept itself!  Don't you see that I'm trying to help you out here?

As for me not posting any evidence, I guess you weren't really reading anything I posted.  This link was on page 3, not to mention all the other, more specific links I posted (often more in one post than in all of your replies combined):

Yes, from the evidence it looks pretty likely to me that we're causing global warming on a horrific scale. But with science you don't need to argue. It doesn't matter who wins the debate -- it's about reality. By just waiting a little longer, we'll get to see who was right. It feels unethical, but I find myself wanting to keep quiet about the science just to know for sure. As terrible as it sounds, the state of the world isn't really my responsibility. I'm just thrilled to get to watch. If the scientists are right -- and if we keep people from understanding just a little longer -- we'll enjoy quite a ride. And pragmatically, on the outside chance that they're all wrong, I get saved the embarrassment of having spoken up.

That's funny, I largely feel the same way - only I don't think there is anything we can do to stop climate change or create it.  We're so focused on CO2, when water and methane also provide huge greenhouse effects (especially water, it is about 75% of the atmosphere's total greenhouse gases).  I suggest we find a way to suck water out of the air.

That would also have another benefit - summers around my house wouldn't be so freaking humid and unbearable.

I'm arguing my point, sure, but I realize that I'm not going to actually convince anyone.  We'll see who is right, as you said.  However, considering that not so long ago people were screaming about how global cooling would kill us all, I think it's likely that this latest trend will pass as well.

Honestly though, I'm tired of talking about it.

I prefer the title "Supreme Overlord Emperor" thank you very much. If you're going to be my archnemesese (that's the plural for nemesis, right?) you should at least call me by my proper title.

Anyway, I've moved past "destroy the Earth" I now plan to destroy the universe!!! BWA HA HA HA!!!!

You do realise I was the one who tricked you into betraying Kyogre.

You think it matters that you turned him? When I first began I was planning to do this by myself. His loss is of no consequence.
