Is there an optimal tileset, or can I restart the game in the beginning of my first turn, it would be swell if that was possible 
Not sure what you fully desire by an optimal tileset but you can restart the game at any point by pressing CTRL + R to generate a new map.
CTRL-N.
CTRL-R is 'Research Current Tech'.
Or has it changed since DL?
CTRL + N for a game reset. CTRL + R only works in a "Cheat Mode" game.
