Here is the Achilles Class Assault Dropship:

sweet. Wouldn't a drop ship be something that drops troops in to battle thus be a good ship for a transport?

There are all kinds of Dropships. Ranging from bringing in the troops, setting up colonies, mining, freight, and providing a fire base or ground support. The Jumpship and Warships had the ability to move from one star system to another. Dropships would ride piggyback on them. And all three types of ships could carry some kind of Shuttle or Starfighter.

hay on the Hunter and Magellan what are those ring stusers at the end of the ship do? because i can't tell if its attached to it or not.and plus a neverheard of this till now.

Here is the Octopus Dropship. This would be used as a Construction Ship.

The ring structure is what would be called the Solar Sail in Battle Tec. In that game the big ships have to jump from Star system to system. Thus they deploy the sail after they have make a jump and it charges up the jump drive. Think in terms of what happens on the show Star Gate. This ring was the only way I could think of creating the sail. The ring would be at the stage were the sail is ready to be taken into storage for the jump. Or the sail is to be deployed for the charging. I did a cute design trick for the sail to be where it is. One thin pole coming out of the back end. The rigging for the sail would be of momofilimant cable and thus invisible to the eye.

In Battle Tec, the Warships and Jumpships are so large that they can not land of a planet. That is what the Dropships are for. They are too small for the jump drive and thus. piggyback on the bigger ships. The largest Dropship would be about the size of the Nimitz Carriers. The largest Jumpship can carry 25 Dropships.

This should give you an idea of the scale of the ships. Starting from the top. You have a Battle Tech Battleship. The Star Wars Destroyer. Babylon 5 Terran Destroyer. and the Star Trek Enterprise. These are all done in scale to each other.

And this gives you the scale of the Dropships, Jumpships, and Warships.

Nice looking ships...Not sure what Battle Tech is though, but nice nonetheless...

Yes I use the fleet warp bubbles and fleet logistics to make up the right mix of Dropshps and Fighters/Shuttles to a Jumpship or Warship.

If I chose to make a Battletech mod. There would be enought of the Great Houses to replace all the standard races. There are no aliens in the BT game. All are human, but the governments have special backgrounds and units. Here is a list of the Houses and their cultural backgrounds.

Federated Suns (House Davion) French and English Monarchies.
Draconis Combine (House Kurita) Samurai Japan
Capellan Confederation (House Liao) Communist China and Russia
Free Worlds League (House Marik) American of around 1900. Many cultures coming in.
Lyran Commomwealth (House Steiner) German/Scottish/Italian
Free Rasalhague Republic (House Miraborg) Danish/Norwegian/Swedish
ComStar (Controls Earth) Think of the Church of the Middle Ages. Controls Communications to all planets.
Word of Blake (Fanatics) Splinter group of ComStar. Like the Spanish Inquisition. They think that ComStar has strayed away from the true path.
The Clans (Factions) When the Civil war loomed overhead. A group of people fled to deep space. They have now returned with genetically enhanced bodies and high tech weapons. To pacify the others. They go by such group names as: Snow Raven, Jade Falcons, Hell Horses, Ghost Bears, and so forth.

There are also smaller groups that can be used as minor races. The clans could also be the Dread lord Returns event. The Mercenary group known as Wolf's Dragoons could be another race to be run as well.

Here is a Mining ship. In the BT universe. They would be huge factories that would be towed into the asteroid field. So this one is built from scratch.

So you could make something that looked like a industrial factory floor floating in space and it could be the mining ship?

Yea thats about right. But I chose to make a homemade Mining ship. Which is what you see there. Would look kind of funny to see a industrial floor moving from asteroid field to asteroid field.

Here is a Troop Ship and a Destroyer The Destroyer can carry two Dropships and I mocked two up. That is what is on top of the nose section.

Here are some more ships for Battletech.  I am now down to just doing the battleships and Dreadnought classes.  Plus one more Light Cruiser.  Then I will have enought ships to put a ships pack together and post them to the Libiary.       

 

 

 

 

 

The Scythe and Broadswoard ships are home made ones.  The Scythe being a spore ship for Battletech.  Since I did not play as the super aniliator.  I do not have the spore tech yet.  But the spore would be put on the nose of the ship.  In front of the gause coil.
