TechTree vs TechTrees

Help me to understand this...

In working through the text files, I was wondering exactly how the tech trees operate. What I *think* is going on is that the values in the individual racial tech trees "over-write" the "master" tech tree values. If that's the case, I was thinking of creating a more generic version of the master tech tree, stuff like "Research1", "Industry2", etc. & then move the racially-specific details into the racial versions of the tech tree. There's not really any good reason for doing this other than my OCD tendencies & a desire to understand the game better. :) Thanx!

That seems to be how it works, yes - you can create a "Dark Avatar" and "DreadLords" techtree for use in Twilight by simply changing the the original xml headers; loading the tree into the twilight tech tree editor, then saving - it culls all the duplicate fields and leaves just the stuff that changes between the versions.
