New Comp running Vista - can't download through Stardock now

Built my first new computer today; only problem is that I can't fully download Galactic Empires 2 (DL, DA, and TA) for my new machine.  The download bar on Stardock gets all the way to 100% then returns to 0 and begins downloading the same file again.  No unpacking, no installation, no intact file, no game.  I turned off Vista's firewall but that did not remedy the problem.  I'm running Vista 64-bit and there is little else on my machine as I just built it; no 3rd party firewalls/virus protection or anything.  My old computer was XP and had no problems like this.
Please help.

Are you running with Admin privileges, or as a regular user?

Okay, I am currently running Stardock through the admin account. I ran the command "net user administrator /active:yes" at the command prompt, restarted, and logged into the Administrator account. I right clicked Stardock and chose to run the file as administrator. I even disabled the UAC. None of this works. The gc2 file downloads to 100% and then restarts at 0% and Stardock resumes downloading the very same file. The file is never unpacked or installed as it used to when I had XP.

What else could be happening? How do I fix this so I can download gc2?

I am running Vista 64-bit SP1.

I am getting the exact same problem, also Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

This is not isolated, thank goodness.

I am also running as administrator, even tried running stardock central as admin priviledges, it still does not work.

It worked on Vista home premium 32 bit (my last computer) fine.

Pleae help, I really like GalCiv II

Today I hooked my old computer back up (runs Windows XP) and figured I'd download the games onto it (I used to play gc2 on it) and use a flash drive to copy the games to my Vista computer. Newsflash: SAME EXACT thing happened on my XP computer. In the past I had NO trouble with Stardock downloading and installing gc2 on my XP computer, so that leads me to believe that there is some sort of problem with Stardock's downloading/installation feature. Whether the problem extends beyond gc2 game files remains to be seen. I emailed Stardock support about this and I urge others who experience this problem to do the same.

If you don't want to wait for support turnaround, you should be able to get the game with Impulse instead.
