Welcome everyone to Round 7 of the Metaverse League. This Round calls for:

A Technological Victory in a Medium Map with 4 Opponents.

All Victory Conditions Enabled
Allow Surrenders Enabled in DA
Disable Tech Trading Checked
Blind Exploration Checked
Mega Events Enabled in DA
Super Abilities Enabled in DA

Habitable Planets set to Common
Number of Planets set to Uncommon
Number of Stars set to Rare
Star Density set to Tight Clusters
Anomalies set to Common
Asteroids set to Rare in DA
Tech Rate set to Fast
Minor Races Enabled in DL, set to Random in DA






Round 7 will end at 11:59:59PM Forum Time of Saturday, March 29th, 2008

I think its also good for the league to mix up the players every so often so that people can get to know, and learn from, other players. Also with many people showing such great leaps and strides with their gameplay, a draft would serve to more evenly distribute the exceptional players.

I agree with both these points. I do believe that it's getting harder and harder to win these things because the over all competition level is most definitely increasing. Also mixing up folks to learn different styles is important.

Finally, one thing to note is that perhaps the "average" player may learn a bit more from the "experts" than the other way around but it is by no means a one way street. I'm sure even Wyndstar would be the first to admit that he has learned a few things that he would have never thought of before joining the league.

I believe that a competitive metaverse is a healthly metaverse and everyone benefits by the increasing level of everyone else's game.
