That's a known glitch for quite a long time: AIs can talk and trade WITHOUT having UT. When I play them, I can't. :(

I have wondered about that. I suppose that they can trade with you since you have the tech but perhaps not with the other races that do not.

I wonder if anyone has ever tried never researching UT? Would the AI ever research it themselves and offer it to you? I have met other races that have either researched the tech or got it from someone else.

Playing with tech trading turned off makes talking to the AI less important but I wonder how it would affect the IP meetings.  :)

Should probably try the cheat to switch to playing Drengin in that game and see if you can talk to anyone at all.
