You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior

kzin6

"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher

If your claws can grasp it, then it is rightfully yours. - Kzinti proverb

A salute to all those heroic t'kzintar who have made this empire a resounding success. Our conquests continue and the galaxy will never know peace!

Back in December when I was still living in Manchester there was a huge snow storm that had covered most of the areas around Manchester.

I remember that, you were all happy and stuff cause there was no school on that day.

Yes the Ice Storm of 98, the year I moved to Southern Ontario. It creamed Eastern Ontario, Quebec, New York and every other State in the area.
I was in Chatam so was not affected but sent up to Kingston which was hit hard.
This year was a record for rain this summer, anyone else?

Not sure if we broke a record but it's been a rainy Summer in Belgium as well, at least some regions were flooded though nothing exceptional. I always find it ironic that in the 21st century one or two days of heavy rain streets and some homes will flood. Instead of improving the drainage they spend money on messing up traffic - seems to be worse here than in most other countries.

As advertised, my latest game was only 214k, but it was fairly fun doing it. The tedium was kept to a minimum because of the low planet count.

I might as well go for my racial medal as well, so I might try some smaller map strategies based on heavy tech. Game time might be at a premium, but it's not totally unavailable.

Welcome to our newest warriors, Khanbalyk, Treiglad, Admiral Prescott, and CraigHB!

There's been record rainfall here in VT for the last month and half or so. I like the rain, so I've been enjoying it. Keeps the heat down too.

I couldnt get the racial medal to show up, even though I seem to have completed games with all the requisite races. Not sure what is up with it. I'm enjoying my current lower planet count map too.

I've been trying out my latest Swindle tweaks in my current game, just a huge - common habitable planet map, but results are very encouraging:

YR2 - 200900
YR3 - 290850
YR4 - 348600

I'll probably take it to 6 years and get about 410k. This is with only 264 habitable planets. I have it down to the point where I can eliminate all the AIs by the end of year 1. Special thanks to Motti for some hints a while back that I fiddled around with.

For those of you who havent seen it yet, check out zerodexter's Community Game post.

Also this Clues you've been playing too much Galactic Civilizations II post.

Who rembers the 2006 NH Floods?

It wasnt nearly so bad here in VT.

Are you counting any ARC races as part of the mix? Just a thought, but they might be counted for racial purposes as custom.

I'm Torian this time with a gig map (Raiju). It's early year 1 and I have 231 planets. (I took 229 of them in Oct of year 0 and colonized 1 in Jan of year 1).

I purposely left all AIs alive in this one with a few planets each. I want them to finish colonizing as much as they can so I don't have to. A nice side effect of that is that their econ bonuses are keeping them flush with BCs. Those BCs are keeping my coffers above the -500 mark (barely) so my research can continue at a nice clip.

No game time scheduled for this evening, but it won't be long before I'm "negotiating" the fate of the galaxy again.

I'd say any games completed using a ARC would be counted as the the base race used. Note that whatever race was your base for the ARC that is the race and logo that is shown in the MV.
Could be wrong too.....

What I do to solve the colonization problem, is after the first swindle, I set every captured planet that has at least a couple factories to building colony ships. I get the rest of the planets colonized pretty quickly. For staying afloat economically after stealing the first batch of planets, for maybe half a dozen turns, I turn the tax rate down to result in 100% morale. For those few turns I swing from deficit to surplus every other turn, but after those 5 or 6 turns, I have enough population so I'll be earning money for the rest of the game.

Abbout the racial medal, I did use ARC for all of them. I assumed that it would count as the base race, and not custom, and like Neilo said that's what shows up on the games posted to the MV. Maybe I'll go back and complete them all again not using ARC...bleah.

That game I was talking about in my last post finished at 6 years and 406k, on a huge common-habitable map. In a way its more fun than an abundant map, because it plays quicker (not so much management), and also finished more quickly in real-time. I only started the game on Sunday.

haha, though I'm I can think of some individuals who would have found it amusing to have you play all 10 races again; but I'm in a fairly generous mood today.

That being said...(in Stewie Griffin voice: Where's my Karma? Where's my karma man? You got karma to give for fake mustaches, man? how much karma that cost you man?"

Playing as the Drengin did the trick. I missed them because there was no race.xml file for them in my directory.

Thanks. Medals arent super important to me, but I figured as long as I was doing ZYWs, I might as well do one with each race.

Congrats on the racial medal, KP!

I didn't look through your profile, so I missed the Drengin thing. Nice catch, SB!

I was using my Torian game as a test bed for a new tactic. Unfortunately, that part failed and I'll need to try another angle. I'll finish this game out and continue to work on the racial medal and regaining the top 25 one for my Raiju character.

Trying new tactics keep the interest level up, but I think moving on to DA and TA will be even better. Once Impulse 2 comes out next week, I'll be upgrading my Kzinti profile.

No gaming time yesterday, but maybe I can squeeze some in this evening.

I'm on the edge of my seat dying for news on what entails on the espionage overhaul that 2.0 has.

Then again, the news that the fantasy game will go into Beta in the spring has caught my eye more. I really think I enjoyed TA in the beta stage more than now. Perhaps the newness is gone, or perhaps the learning experience is mainly over.
