Governer's

Watch the in-game tutorial video about rally points for info on that. The govermor is just for assigning rally points (they must have already been created on the main screen).

The colony governor assigns rally points to planets (based on the rally point they currently are set to use) so that newly built ships will go to that rally point automatcially. The ship governor assigns rally points to already built ships.

Well,I looked at the tutorial for rally points.(Keep in mind that I only have dread lords not dark avatar)I tried using colony rally points to make all my built ships go somewere,but when I build a ship it just sits in the starport without doing a thing.So those rally points have become essentially useless to me.

Ok basically you click on the little circle with the arrow on the planet selection screen and is all self explanatory from then on. I hope the following animation helps. The arrows show points of interest!:

I understand how to do that.What I mean is in the Civilation Managment screen when you got to the tab governers.There are three types of governers.One is for making ships,another for starship rally points,and one more for colony rally points.I want to know how to actually use the colony rally points.I put a point in there and no one actually uses it.

To use the colony rally points you need to already have your colonies sending ships to a rally point by the method above. Then you go into the colony governor and you can change from there where your ships are going.

Example:

You set 5 planets to send ships to rally point 1 just to have your ships concentrated somewhere.

You get into war. So you make a new rally point in the enemy territory, rally point 2. So now instead of going manually through all the 5 planets to change their rally points by the method above, you go to the colony governor and click, Colonies sending to rally point 1, then in the other column, rally point 2 and click update rally points.

And it should work.
