Behonest that would be a pretty sweet mod idea. You got the Revers as a freaky pirate faction and assuming its a prequel the Independence vs the Alliance, which is great cause there is alot of wiggle room in ship designs which works well with Gal Civ II. Thus most of the mod would be media stuff not requiring modeling skills, which is often the deal breaker.

I hearby pledge my support to a possible Firefly/Serenity mod, long live the Browncoats!

I would love to do a prequel mod to firefly during the war, but the problem is that you lose the Serenity, but then again you keep the firefly class cause its an older transport right, most likely used during the war?

that would be a fun mod cause you get to really create something from nothing, the back story has always been vague except for a few battles like Serenity Valley. But the tech and ships all open.

I'm guessing it would be around, it looked pretty old and worn down when Mal bought it. They also talked about how reliable it was, which is something that can only be judged with age.

The problem with a Firefly mod would be that you could only have two sides (maybe three if you tossed in Reavers just for kicks).

The Reavers were not around till after the war right?

they were born probably shortly before, during, or shortly after the war... I believe in Serenity that they spoke about how just before the war there was a call for settlers to go out to Miranda - which is of course where the reavers were created.


and you could have more than 2 factions - you could start it out even earlier than the Alliance vs Independence war, before the core worlds began forming the Alliance, you could have different factions of Core worlds and Rim worlds, all vying for supremacy, with the eventual winners of the Core worlds forming the Alliance to their tastes, and the Rim worlds throwing their differences aside and forming a coalition which eventually gives way to the Independence movement.

If anyone wants help brainstorming for story ideas on a mod I would be more than happy to help

A Serenity mod would be awesome. And we could base some of the ships off of the ones shown in the episode when Mal gets Serenity.
I am willing and able to help with this mod if it gets done.

I guess you have to be a fan because I agree with Moose.... it is ugly.

Its uglyness grows on you. Its like the Falcon, yeah its a rust bucket but it will do the kessel run in freakish times. Basically they both have it where it counts.

falcon's got a better engine, Serenity's got a better crew though in my opinion... and i'm a star wars fan

Serenity....ugly?!?! Granted she's winning no beauty contests but she flies with a gracefullness you don't see from the Millenium Falcon.

It would never be in a fleet of warships. It would be a cargo hull, surely?

Yeah, Serenity is a cargo ship, so obviously it would never make a fleet of warships.
