Teammates should gift all tech

Forgive me if I'm missing something, but isn't a team something that cannot be broken, and if one person on the team wins you all win (sorry if I'm off on this)? In that case, shouldn't they be throwing tech at me every time they make a breakthrough? Shouldn't teams be negociating which research paths they'll follow to maximise their output?

Lazyness
But I mentioned in another thread how it would be good to implement the ability to negotiate tech research, and coordinate yourselves. Doubt it would work, since it would ruin the AI's intelligent research pattern. Remember, no matter how good it is, you're dealing with code, which is complicated writing. It can evaluate and calculate, but not "Think".

Yet.

remember, alliance doesn't stay bonded, in a normal game, when your teammate decide to go to war with an other race, you will have to decide to go to war with that same race or alliance is broken. Also even if they require to share technology with you, will you do the same to your teammate???

Alliances are different from teams.
