Ever want to use a Dreadlord Hull, or some other race's hull as your own, or even just a different hull than the size you picked allows? Now you can! KHSM adds a 'blank' hull of each size (simply a hardpoint and nothing else), and makes ALL ship hulls in the game into jewelry. So now you can have any hull design you like, add hulls upon hulls as jewelry, or even create a ship ENTIRELY out of jewelry with no hull at all!

READ THE INCLUDED README BEFORE USING!

Now updated and improved for Dark Avatar!

Does this work for ToA? I would like to use it for the full expansion, but I'm not sure if it's compatible yet.

So I was looking in the other/generic jewelry categories and couldn't find the Arnorian hulls as available options.

Is this intentional or am I simply experiencing some kind of eye-glazing effect from scrolling through so many thumbnails?

@ Kryo, I have a question for you. In SHIPCFG File. What are the race codes? like ISC and SO.   I am sorting out my ships and I have no clue what race it is.

May you make list like this:

SO is       race

ISC is     race

Thank you for help.

If you're seeing race codes that are anything other than Snn_, then you were probably using a custom race/template, so I couldn't really say which they might belong to.

Oh Ok? How about just the normal race codes then, no custom?

S0_ is Terran Race

As I was waiting, I downloaded your Hull System Mod and it works for me but how can I make it work Metaverse?

Are you thinking of making update it? I am looking for jewelry and new parts but it has to work with Metaverse?

Do you know of any threads or places that might help?

I am full of questions on ships designs tonight.

Thank you

I am running the latest version of DA right now and I cannot get the hulls as jewelry option to work.  I have run the .bat file as the readme says to and i have the game looking in the right spot for the mod.  The game sees the blank hardpoint parts of you mod but not the hulls as jewelry.  Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you're running the right one in the right location. None of the folders have been changed in any of the updates, so there's no reason it shouldn't work unless you've got some security measures blocking it.

It turns out that Vista's UAC was preventing the copymodels.bat file from running.  After I turned that off it ran and works perfectly now.  Thanks for creating and supporting a great mod.

I just upgraded to TA and tried to install the mod again, but I have a strange problem:  It works as expected in the ship designer, but the blank hulls & extra jewelry don't show up in either the campaign or the sandbox shipyards.  Any ideas?

I recently got ultimate edition of gal civ 2.... and it appears as tho they is only one mod directory in the options.....

do i put all 3 (gal civ2, DA, TA) in that same mod directory?

or do i need to create a mod directory in the twilight and dark avatar folders? bearing in mind i can't pick them seperately in the options only one of them

I'm hoping someone checks in here - noticed two things after install of this mod:

1)Small hulls disappeared - Other sizes still show up, but for small size only blank remains.

2)Blank hulls don't seem to scale properly with increasing miniturization.  I will get fewer build points from a blank hull than from a "real" hull.

Thoughts?  Suggestions?

Hello again. I am currently engaged in making a Metroid-themed total-conversion mod for Twilight Of The Arnor, and want to include several parts of KHSM along with it. However, I am reluctant to do so without permission from the mod's creator (you/Kryo, depending on who's reading this). I would of course credit you/him in the readme and mod description for those components I make use of. If there is any sort of other copyright/credit arrangement that you/he would want me to include, please tell me and I will include it.

I'd have to see how exactly you intend to use it, though I generally decline. Note that a lot of the additions that the mod makes are simply copies of the game's base models and cannot be redistributed period (which is the reason for the batch file).

I mainly just want your disembodied hardpoint hull model.... the rest of the stuff would be cool to have in there, but not really all that important to the rest of the mod.

Hi everyone !

Going back to galciv II after a long time and after changing my PC (now working with windows 7), I've downloaded KHSM and it is partially working : I can use the balnk hulls designed and the hardpoints but I can not see any hulls as jewelery.

How can I make this work ? I've followed each steps of the readme file, more than 5 times and it is still not working. what do I have to do ?

Thanks for your answers !

After looking over the readme, it appears that I have no prefs.ini file at all, and so I have no idea how to change the directory.  I had to create a mod folder for TotA, also.

I'm using v2.03 of TotA, having installed all three packs by downloading.

I have to admit, I'm completely clueless on this.

I managed to get the mod folder issue sorted out, but now I'm having romcas's problem.  The blanks and some of the extra jewelry show up, but not the engine, weapon, hull and other extra jewelry.

Run the batch file (may require admin/UAC disable on win7).

Quoting kryo,
Run the batch file (may require admin/UAC disable on win7).
I ran it as admin and it didn't help.  I checked the properties and it was blocked, so I unblocked it and ran it again, and it still didn't help.  I ran it unblocked as admin finally and it still hasn't changed anything.

I still only have the capacity modules and extra little lights.

I'm going to try reinstalling it entirely though, and see if that does any good.

Are the models being copied into Gfx/Models under the mod's folder?

Make sure that the mod is set up in GalCiv2/Twilight/Mods/Modfolder. If you're using a mods folder in the root GC2 folder, the batch file won't be aiming at the right model origin location to copy from.

It's in the right location, and I finally figured out how to get the game itself to look in that folder.

Right now, it's in galciv2/twilight/mods/khsm-ta

Still not having any luck though.  Might I be able to copy the model files to the correct place manually?
